It's easy!

How it Works

All you need to do to enter is register your school in the program by completing the registration form.  You will need to nominate which category your school falls into – K-7, K-10, K-12, Y8-12 or Other. It is not possible to enter classes individually. Please read the full terms and conditions.

Each school can only be registered once and the registration form must be completed by an official school staff member, so make sure your school nominates a single School Bus Competition Coordinator.

You can register at any time during the program however it is recommended that you register by Monday, July 21, 2003, to maximise your chance of winning. No concessions will be made for schools who register late in the program.

Registration forms will appear in The Sunday Times on June 22, June 29, July 6, 13, and 20, 2003. Once you have completed the registration form, just send or fax it to The Sunday Times or register online.

When your school has registered you will then receive a free Win a School Bus Collectors Kit.

This easy-to-use kit will contain all the items and information you need to make collecting simple and fun. It will include a collection box for tokens with stickers and assembly instructions, posters, a token accumulator wall chart, a final tally sheet and certificates you can present to the Champion Class Collectors.

The collection boxes will be posted separately to the rest of the collection kit.

Now you are all set and ready to go!

How You Can Win

To win these fantastic prizes your school will need to collect as many School Bus Tokens from The Sunday Times as possible. The first valid School Bus Token will be published in The Sunday Times on Sunday, July 27 2003 and one will appear every Sunday thereafter until Sunday, September 21, 2003.

On several weeks over this period a School Bus Bonus Token Sunday will be announced. On these Bonus Token Sundays an additional 10 bonus tokens will be published within the paper. The date of the Bonus Token Sundays will be announced in the paper on the Sunday prior so make sure you check the paper every week to ensure you don’t miss them. Bonus Token Sundays are a great way to boost your schools token tally!

Rally your school children, teachers, parents, grandparents, friends, suppliers and local businesses to collect as many of these School Bus Tokens as possible for your school over this nine-week period. The more tokens you can collect, the greater your chance of winning!

Once the final token has appeared in The Sunday Times on September 21, 2003 you will be asked to tally all of the tokens you have collected, complete the final tally sheet and fax your results to The Sunday Times by 5pm on Friday, October 17, 2003.

The Sunday Times will rank each registered school and will appoint an independent auditor to confirm the top five schools’ tally sheets. School numbers will be confirmed with education authorities.

The winner of the School Bus will be the school that collects the most tokens per total student ratio.

The major winner and secondary prize winners will be announced in The Sunday Times on Sunday, October 26, 2003.
